Neveh Channah's 10th grade English Speakers are proud to be embarking on a quest to define our identities as members of our own communities. We hope to accomplish this through researching Israeli international aid organizations, and individuals who have contributed to their communities in a significant manner. Finally, each student will reflect on how these people have influenced their lives, and consider how she sees herself as a proactive member of her society.
We have participated in an online cultural share with the Escuela Tecnica ORT high school in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Click here to see what we have learned from them about Jewish life in Buenos Aires. About the Logo: This sculpture in the Polish cityof Kielce memorializes the post-Holocaust pogrom that claimed the lives of 42 of the city's remaining Jews who had returned from the camps to resume their lives. With no Jewish state to protect us, we remained at the mercy of the anti-Semitic masses.
Today, however, Israel not only stands strong enough to protect herself, but even sends humanitarian aid to over 30 nations in the world. This aid, as you will see in our student projects, spans the fields of Medicine, Agriculture, Education and more.
The logo shows a fractured Magen David, representing the tragic destruction of a community. We pledge to work together to build our communities, repairing what is broken, and continuing to build a strong future.
